Margin Shop Tour Videos<br /> 13 June, 2010 </p> <p>UK independent street wear and fashion tradeshow Margin London have momentarily shifted focus from their exhibitors, to the independent stores and fashion boutiques across the UK that best represent what our country has to offer.<br /> The Shop Tour video series sees Margin make the trip to a number of different independent stores across the country, from Brighton to York, taking in some of the best boutiques around including Urban Industry (Eastbourne), Boy Parker (Brighton), Chimp (Leeds) and The Rugged Standard (York). In the videos you can hear a little about the stores from the owners themselves as well as their thoughts on the Margin Tradeshow and how it has worked for them. It�s a great little insight into what goes on behind the scenes at some of these locations and a chance to learn a little more about some really interesting stores.<br /> Check below for our choice pick of the shop tours and head over to Margin on Vimeo to view more. Sportswear International<br /> 27 May. 2010</p> <p>MARGIN PREMIERES NEW SHOP TOUR VIDEOS<br /> Margin, the independent London trade exhibition, has turned its attention to promoting its core constituents of indie shops that keep towns and cities stocked with fresh product.</p> <p>'Independent stores are a vital part of the retail landscape,' said exhibition organiser Odysseas Constantine. 'They're the stores that pick up on new designers first, at least two years before department stores and corporate multiples, and they bring excitement to shopping. After looking around online, I couldn't believe there wasn't a dedicated website promoting these forward-thinking boutiques in a credible or enticing way, so we're planning on launching a consumer-facing website later this year to promote these important shops to the public. In the meantime,' Constantine added, 'the videos are working double duty on the Margin site as well.'</p> <p>The first wave of Shop Tour videos premiered on May 24 on Margin’s website, and plenty more have been planned in the following weeks. Stores featured in the first wave of Margin Shop Tours include a diverse mix of modern retailers including long-standing design emporium Sarah Coggles in York, streetwear merchants Urban Industry in Eastbourne and Chimp in Leeds, cutting-edge boutique Bespoke in Norwich, and Brighton retailers JuJu and Get Cutie. Additional stores adding some Spanish flavor include Bilbao's newest streetwear store Abricot and board wear mecca The Box in Vigo.</p> <p>Margin is the longest-running independent trade show for directional men’s and women’s clothing and accessories in London. A proven successful hunting ground for key buyers & press to find new brands since the shows started over seven years ago, Margin is set to host its 19th edition in London this August.

Since Margin started in 2002, the independent London trade exhibition has promoted many new & young brands to key buyers but now Margin has turned their attention to promoting it’s core constituency of indie shops that keep towns & cities stocked with fresh product as well.

The first wave of Shop Tour videos are premiering at the Margin website at www.margin.tv/tv from the 24th May with plenty more to come in the following weeks.

Stores featured in the first wave of Margin Shop Tours are a diverse mix of modern retailing including long-standing design emporium Sarah Coggles in York, streetwear merchants Urban Industry in Eastbourne and Chimp in Leeds, cutting-edge boutique Bespoke in Norwich and Brighton retailers JuJu and Get Cutie. Added to these UK stores are Bilbao’s newest streetwear store Abricot and boardwear mecca The Box in Vigo to add an international Spanish flavour.

Based in the historic Thorntons Arcade in Leeds directly across from Harvey Nichols, Chimp was recently taken over by a new owner who has wasted no time in putting his own stamp on the retail space with a new shop fit and brand overhaul to introduce some exclusive streetwear. Chimp are hosting an official relaunch event in-store this Thursday, the 27th May.
