MISSION + Margin exists to promote young upscale streetwear labels. The Original and the best platform for new talent for the over 6 years, Margin was established to help new labels reach a wider buying and press audience. Margin was created out of necessity. Retailers travel the world looking for the next big thing but are never going to find up-and-coming labels at a show whose costs prohibit fresh talent. The main drive of Margin was to establish a show where new young labels could find an affordable platform.

Feeling the love
Sunday, August 12th, 2007“We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was great to meet many of our loyal stockists face to face and of course getting the chance to meet new ones. We had an overwhelming response to our new collection, with new buyers from all over the world placing orders. The hard work starts now dealing with all our new stockists! We will definitely be back next season.” + Punky Pins

LONDON SHOWS USHER IN S/S 2008 TRENDS
London, England, 10 Aug. 2007
At Margin (margin.tv), which ran August 5 to 7, a new initiative, Accessories Gild, presented a consistent slew of labels encompassing handbags, jewelry, socks, scarves and even the odd tie. A collection of abstractly printed clutches and scarves by Stateek (stateek.com), was one highlight and Punky Pins (punkypins.co.uk) charmed visitors with its clubby, quirky jewelry range.
On the apparel side, Oak Jeans (oakjeans.com) showcased its collection in the section dedicated to new names, 101. Although the label is still in its infancy and offers a limited number of styles, it is reaping the awards after being featured to great acclaim on the prime time TV UK reality show, WAGs Boutique.
The fluoro color fad, which was absent elsewhere, made an appearance at Margin where it manifested itself in the collections of White Trash for Cash and Chateau Roux, among others. (Evidently, the New Rave trend is not yet ready to put its dancing shoes on the shelf, at least in London, the club mecca of the world.)
Margin’s producers reported that attendance at the latest edition matched that of the February 2007 show, which saw a 40% increase from the prior one.

Exhibitor Preview + GILD + Punky Pins
Thursday, August 2nd, 2007Punky Pins

Strongly influenced by Japanese street fashions and bold pop art prints, Punky Pins made their first piece of jewellery using plastic gumball charms and other kitsch 80s memorabilia.
Their current collection includes their distinctive ‘Starburst’ range pictured here; a colourful ensemble of laser cut acrylic stars. Other stories include the ‘Junk’ range, an audacious collection of vintage gumball charms and other kitsch goodies loaded onto bracelets and necklaces, the ‘Rockstar’ range, cute enamel star guitars created using their own logo, and their tattoo- inspired ‘Swoopin’ Swallow’ collection.
Punky Pins will be making their trade exhibition debut at GILD in Margin London.

A New Dedicated Fashion Accessories Trade Exhibition
in London for Design-led Labels that Gild our World
Featuring directional, fun and forward accessories across all price points and market categories, GILD will provide a much-needed platform in London dedicated to Accessories for Labels and Designers to meet with key buyers and fashion editors from the UK and internationally. The first edition will take place in August 2007 on the 5th 6th & 7th during Londons Market Week when key UK & International Buyers visit the capital. Already creating a buzz amongst Buyers and Press, GILD
is a new initiative organised by the team behind successful upscale streetwear exhibition Margin. Recent editions of Margin have seen a marked increase in accessories, from Headwear to Footwear, Bags to Belts, Jewellery to Underwear.
There has also been a strong demand from the key buyers who regularly visit Margin who have responded well to the creative accessories collections and have been asking for more.
To distinguish and highlight these labels from the upscale streetwear and directional tailoring of Margin, the first edition of GILD will debut in August 2007 next to Margin at the Central London location of The Vinyl Factory Gallery in Soho. As such GILD will benefit from the established visitor traffic of Margin and the location is well-known to all fashion buyers and press and is within easy reach of key stores and magazine offices as well as other London shows. Buyers and press have responded well to the relaxed welcoming intimacy of Margin and we aim to provide the same level of inclusive, swift-entry service to the visiting Buyers and Press of GILD
. GILD is currently accepting applications from progressive designers and the response has been great from labels such as Italian accessories label Babbu & UK jewellery brand Punky Pins proving the demand for a new showcase of creative accessories.
