Menswear Buyer MWB
Feature on the London Store
and Buyers at Bread & Honey

When frenchman Laurent Roure - former Bond international manager and current Margin trade show consultant - opened his own retail store in East London two years ago, he got out a book on cockney rhyming slang to find a name for it. Tom Bottomley talks taking money with the owner of Bread & Honey. His friend Odysseas Constantine was setting up the Margin trade show with the idea to promote and show new designers, brands and labels and make it *dynamic and affordable to do.* Having been approached by a lot of new street brands during his time at Bond, Roure was asked to join Constantine to help him build up the reputation of the show. *It's very exciting to be able to help the new kids in the business and to discover new talents,* Roure comments. *Some of them have grown with the show and are now recognised brands - like Supreme Being and Lazy Oaf. It's also useful for keeping in touch with styles and trends and for talking to other retailers and gauging what's going on in the market.* Initially full-time on Margin, Roure now works on it part-time as a consultant, as well as bringing in new brands for Constantine's new concept spaceshowroom.com - a showroom on the internet which is *the next big venture.* Roure has already signed up Rushmoor, J shoes and Revolver Jeans among others for the concept.

London fashion exhibition Margin has purchased the Showroom Group. SPACEshowroom.com provides an online fashion industry network to link Buyers and Brands. Amazingly there are over 45 fashion weeks and over 1500 trade fairs globally each season. Brands can't be expected to show at all of them and Buyers can't be expected to visit them all. Brands can save on exhibition costs and Buyers can save on travel costs by making use of SPACEshowroom.com online fashion industry network. Instead of walking miles collecting line sheets, buyers can browse them from the comfort of their computer. Brands can sign up for membership and create their own brand page with their brand background, contact details, press highlights and any other information they consider valuable. They can upload their line sheets and images from their range for buyers to view and download. Only accredited buyers are granted access to the brand pages, free of charge.

MARGIN LONDON BUYS SHOWROOM GROUP
London, England, 17 Mar. 2006

Margin, the London-based trade show for young and indie brands, has purchased the Showroom Group and its websites. The Showroom Group’s successful Internet site www.Spaceshowroom.com enables brands to upload their line sheets for accredited buyers to browse online and download at their convenience. More than 2,500 buyers are registered to view the more than 100 line sheets on the site.

The twice-yearly Margin exhibition was established in 2002 to create an affordable platform for new and young brands.
