7th March 2003
Margin, London. 9th-10th February 2003
Showcasing upscale streetwear, the second edition of MARGIN LONDON proved to be successful and well received by Buyers, Press and Exhibitors alike. The February 2003 edition previewed clothing and accessory ranges for Men and Women by 47 unique labels, including manufacturers new design start-ups. Over 500 buyers along with editors and stylists from key fashion titles visited the central London venue of the Music Rooms over two days to discover and order from new labels. Professional buyers have always wanted to discover and buy new labels and the response to the show justified the organisers initial belief that design start-ups need an attractive and affordable show environment to reach the stores. This has led to Margin London being inundated with requests to exhibit at the next edition, whilst womenswear labels looking for an alternative to established events such as London Fashion Week have also been expressing an interest in signing up. Rather than move to a larger venue, Margin London has decided to settle into its new home at the Music Rooms on South Molton Lane, and divide the show up into two chapters to accommodate the demand. Mens labels will exhibit on the 10th and 11th August 2003 and womens collections will show the week after on the 17th and 18th August 2003. Each show will be able to house between 40-46 collections.
